Pain,
has a different definition for most of us. However, for some of us, especially
when we see kids, pain is when they get hurt physically. Many a times, they
also suffer from emotional distress, but they are unaware of it.
We
are in our purest form at heart when we are young. We know no wits and our mind
is free from any kind of troubles. We
are treated by our elders at their best. Good clothes, toys and treats; these
are generally a part of those children’s childhoods, who are fortunate enough
to have parents. However, life is not the same, no matter what family you come
from.
Once
a kid is bruised or wounded, people around them can see the pain that is
visible to the naked eye. However, not all wounds are visible to them too. Some
wounds are within the child’s mind and his heart. When the wound is such, it is
very important for the parents to understand the need of the hour and visit a child psychologist.
They do not examine the child for any visible wounds, instead they talk to them
and try to make them comfortable and then they start digging in.
Emotional
distress can be because of n number of reasons. It can be heriditical like OCD
or can be exposure to such situations or conditions which a child is very young
to understand and relate to. Most of the cases where the child falls in need of
a psychologist is due to the
atmosphere he has at home or at school. Having divorced parents, family fights,
abusive parents, school bullies, lack of self-confidence, physical abuse, study
pressure, peer pressure, over ambitious parents or most importantly any sexual
abuser who is around but the child is unable to disclose his or her presence to
others.
It
is the job of the psychologist to
understand the thought process of the child and gauge the level of damage
caused on an emotional and mental level. The child psychologistsdubai
are experts in finding out the cause of distress. Moreover, it is not only
important to find out the reason behind the condition, but, it is also
important to take the child out of this mental condition.
The
child needs to realize that by speaking up, he will let others help him. The child
psychologists try their best to make
the child have faith in them. Once, the child has the sense of security and is
sure that his words will be taken seriously; he would start speaking his mind.
This however, is an ongoing process. Unlike fever where you keep taking
medicines and one fine day the fever is gone.
The invisible scars on a child’s mind are very important to be erased.
It is important; that the child starts feeling positive and this positivity is
inculcated by the professionals and
the parents collectively. Once, the parents understand the need of them, half the battle is won, thus, better
consider the best for quick results.
